2020: Criteria for RMN’s Divisional Selection for National U16 Camp

The top 20 male and top 20 female athletes on the U16 Junior Nationals Points List are automatically invited to the NNF National U16 Camp.

If 1 or 0 RMN athletes qualify for the camp via this objective criteria, then we will be allotted a quota of 1 male AND 1 female divisional selection. The male and female selections shall be selected in the following manner:

1) Results from Junior Nationals shall be scored using the World Cup scoring system as if they were RMN JNQs (removing all non-RMN athletes from results) to create an RMN U16 JNs Camp Points List using the best 2 of 3 races. A racer can use the sprint qualifier or the final sprint result, not both

2) The Final RMN JN Points List shall be scored using the World Cup scoring system. Any U16 RMN athletes who pre-qualified for Junior Nationals based on performance at US National Championships shall be allotted 100 points. The top non-prequalified RMN athlete on the Final RMN JN Qualification Points List shall also be allotted 100 points, with the next non-prequalified athlete receiving 80 points, and so on.

3) The 2 points lists will be added and skiers ranked based on the sum. The top ranked skier who did not qualify via the Camp’s objective criteria shall be given the spot.

1st Tiebreaker: Best result (5km Individual Start, 5km Mass Start, Sprint Qualifier, or Sprint Final) at Junior Nationals once non-RMN skiers have been removed.

2nd Tiebreaker: Second best result (5km Individual Start, 5km Mass Start, Sprint Qualifier, or Sprint Final) at Junior Nationals once non-RMN skiers have been removed.

3rd Tiebreaker: Third best result (5km Individual Start, 5km Mass Start, Sprint Qualifier, or Sprint Final) at Junior Nationals once non-RMN skiers have been removed.

4th Tiebreaker: Athlete with better U.S. Ski & Snowboard NRL Points

If RMN has more than 1 athlete qualify for the camp via the objective criteria, then RMN will be alloted 1 Divisional spot to be given to a male OR a female athlete. RMN shall select its divisional selection based on 50% RMN JNQ season points list and 50% on the results from JNs in this manner:

Steps 1 and 2 as above.

3) The Male and Female lists shall be combined and ranked according to sum. The top ranked skier (Male or Female) who did not qualify via the Camp’s objective criteria shall be given the spot.

1st Tiebreaker: Best result (5km Individual Start, 5km Mass Start, Sprint Qualifier, or Sprint Final) at Junior Nationals once non-RMN skiers have been removed.

2nd Tiebreaker: Second best result (5km Individual Start, 5km Mass Start, Sprint Qualifier, or Sprint Final) at Junior Nationals once non-RMN skiers have been removed.

3rd Tiebreaker: Third best result (5km Individual Start, 5km Mass Start, Sprint Qualifier, or Sprint Final) at Junior Nationals once non-RMN skiers have been removed.

4th Tiebreaker: Athlete with better U.S. Ski & Snowboard NRL Points
